At 7:03 a.m., the man was found unresponsive underneath a Ford F250 at Sip and Summit Avenues, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.
He was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center with severe head trauma where he was pronounced dead, Wallace-Scalfione said. The man has not been publicly identified.
The driver remained on scene and an investigation determined there were no apparent acts of reckless operation by the vehicle operator, Wallace-Scalfione said.
The investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfione said.
